At the Oregon Veterans’ Home we pride ourselves on the level of care and services that we offer our veteran residents.
Many engaging activities are available for residents to participate in, such as dances, social events, card games, special programs, arts and crafts, patriotic events, and gardening to name a few.
Transportation is provided to and from community outings and many sightseeing excursions.  If residents need assistance to and from doctors appointments, the Home is also able to accommodate this need.
The dietary department prides itself on quality food and their ability to accommodate food preferences.  The Home’s full-time chef continually offers a variety of menu items and recipes based on resident’s feedback.
Meals are served in a community dining area, providing an opportunity for residents to socialize.  At each lunch and dinner, residents can choose from two delicious meals, in addition to a variety of made to order soup, salad and/or sandwich combinations.
A full-time dietitian offers customized nutrition regimens and diet education based on individual resident needs. Also, the Oregon Veterans’ Home can accommodate a wide array of therapeutic and mechanically altered diet orders to aide in providing the highest quality of resident care.
Care Level
The Home offers residents numerous therapeutic benefits through physical activity, creative expression and social involvement.
Our nursing team is complimented by physical, occupational, and speech therapists who provide specific physician-ordered services to help residents meet their maximum rehabilitative potential.  The staff designs a personalized therapy program based on each individual’s needs.
Outpatient rehabilitation services are also available. The nursing department’s Restorative Program involves daily group exercises in our “Open Gym” therapy room. These exercises focus on balance, fall prevention and mobility safety.
Regardless of which level of care that is required, all residents have the freedom and convenience of a small community as well as the comforts of a home-like setting. The Oregon Veterans’ Home offers a quality of life, which emphasizes privacy, encourages independence, provides comfort and security, and meets many social needs.
