Public Health Modernization Administrative Rules Advisory Committee meets in Portland August 16


What: The Oregon Health Authority is convening a Rules Advisory Committee (RAC) to inform the rules to implement HB 2310 (2017), HB 3100 (2015) and the Future of Public Health Task Force recommendations on a new framework for public health. The framework is centered on foundational capabilities and foundational programs essential in every community and for every person, to protect and improve health in Oregon.

The RAC will review concepts and provide input on proposed rules related to: requirements for funding formulas; incentives and matching funds; accountability metrics; local public health authority (LPHA) and required public health services; delegation; subcontracting of public health services; and transfer of local public health authority.

When: Wednesday, August 16, 2-4 p.m. There will be time allotted at the end of the meeting for public comment; comments are limited to three minutes.

Where: Portland State Office Building, Room 1C, 800 NE Oregon St., Portland.

Background: The Public Health Modernization Administrative Rules Advisory Committee is holding its first meeting to help inform the public health rules to modernize the public health system.
