Now is the time. Find out if you are eligible for Medicaid EHR incentive payments!
Hospitals and eligible health care providers who serve Oregon's most vulnerable individuals can now register and apply for federal funds to help support the implementation and use of certified electronic health record systems in their clinics.
Oregon's Medicaid EHR Incentive Program launched September 26, 2011. You can Register and Apply now.
The adoption of electronic health records is part of the initial strategies behind Oregon's drive for better health, better care and lower costs.
The Medicaid EHR Incentive Program helps hospitals and providers make the switch to secure EHR systems, empowering doctors and patients alike to engage in better coordination of care. Doctors and patients are able to work together to manage their private and up-to-date health records, avoiding repetitive tests, and increasing efficiency.
The Medicaid EHR Incentive Program is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, encouraging states to make the switch to electronic records. The Oregon Health Authority's Office of Health Information Technology (OHIT), administers Oregon's incentive program through the Medicaid HIT team, sponsored by Oregon's Medicaid director.
Physicians and other practitioners who aren't eligible for Medicaid EHR incentives may be eligible for Medicare EHR incentives. For more information, visit the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid EHR incentive website.
