Biographies
 

The Oregon Educators Benefit Board is made up of the following people:
 
Two members representing district boards:
 

· Ron Gallinat
 
Ron is the owner of Central Oregon Employee Benefits, LLC where he is a Consultant and Agent to employees for benefits. Ron has more than 20 years of experience in benefits focusing on employer-sponsored insurance. He also serves as a board member on the High Desert Education Service District Board. 
  
  
 
· Nancy MacMorris-Adix (Vice Chair)

Nancy is a Certified Nurse Midwife with more than 20 years of experience in full-scope practice, currently employed by Salem Nurse Midwives in Salem, Oregon. Nancy also currently serves as an elected member of the Salem-Keizer School Board and has participated for over 20 years on a community task force to assure all women in the Salem area have access to prenatal care.

 
  
 
Two members representing district management: 
  
 
· Bob Stewart

Bob Stewart has been superintendent of Gladstone School District since 1999. Prior to 1999, he held a variety of positions in Gladstone School District since 1980. Overall, he has been in education for 39 years.
 
Bob graduated from Warner Pacific College and completed a Masters of Public Administration at Portland State University.
 
He serves in several leadership capacities. Bob is Past-President of the nonprofit “Family Stepping Stones” which is the first Relief Nursery in Clackamas County; is also a member of the Clackamas County Commission for Children and Families; was a member of Governor’s Kitzhaber Early Learning Transition Team, and a member of the Early Learning Design Team; he is a trustee on the Warner Pacific College Board of Directors and a CareOregon board member; Secretary of the Gladstone Education Foundation and a member (past president) of the Gladstone/Oak Grove Rotary Club. Bob is currently the President of the Oregon Association of School Executives (public school superintendents).
 
Bob has been married to Diana since 1973 and they have five children and six
grandchildren.
 

  
 
· Dr. Heather Cordie

Dr. Cordie is currently Superintendent of the Sherwood School District. She has spent the past 20 years in Oregon education working in rural and remote school districts as well as within the Portland-Metro area. Dr. Cordie serves as a member of the board for both the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce and the Sherwood YMCA, developing strong relationships with community stakeholders and enhancing partnerships with local government and business leaders.

· Dave Fiore 
 
Dave is a UniServ Consultant with the Oregon Education Association and works out of their Pendleton office. Prior to his work with OEA, Dave was a high school language arts educator in Central Oregon and also worked for SAIF Corporation. Dave has lived in Oregon for the past 27 years.
 
 


One member representing nonmanagement district employees from the second largest labor organization representing district employees:
 
 
· Rick Shidaker (Chair)
 
Rick has been a Field Representative for Oregon School Employees Association for nearly 20 years. His experience includes being OSEA’s negotiator, the Chief Spokesperson responsible for negotiating all public and private sector collective bargaining agreements. Previously, Rick worked for Eugene School District 4J as the community school coordinator as well as for the city of Veneta as their Parks and Recreation director. 
  
 

One member representing nonmanagement district employees who are not represented by the largest or second largest labor organizations representing district employees:
 
 
· Cherie Maas-Anderson

Cherie is an Instructional Coordinator who has worked for Portland Community College for the past 24 years. She has served on numerous collective bargaining teams to help lower insurance costs for employees as well as working for consensus in efforts to make health insurance packages more responsive to employee needs.  She has served on the Joint Committee on Insurance Benefits (JCIB) at Portland Community College for the past seven years.

 
  
 


Two members with expertise in health policy or risk management: 
 
 
· Alison Little, M.D., M.P.H.
 
Alison is Medical Director for Oregon Health and Science University’s Center for Evidence-based Policy. Previously, Alison served as the Medical Director for the Oregon Health Services Commission, Oregon Medical Assistance Program and Central Oregon Independent Health Services. She was also a family practice physician for several years.

· Jaimie Sorenson
 
Jaimie is a Council Representative for Oregon AFSCME Council 75 in Portland. Prior to taking this position in 2011, Jaimie spent 14 years working in healthcare, starting at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) in 1996, then working at Rogue Valley Medical Center Hospital-Lab in Medford and then back to OHSU Hospital in Portland.
