New Weight Watchers Benefit
At Work Group
What is included in the OEBB Weight Watchers benefit?
Effective Oct. 1, 2010, OEBB employees and early retirees can participate in up to four 13-week sessions at per year at no cost. You can access the Weight Watchers benefit in three different ways – pick the one that’s right for you.
  • At Work meetings (see page 2)
  • Community meetings
  • Online
To continue participation after your first 13-weeks, you must provide proof of participation in 10 of 13 sessions to receive the next session at no cost.
What is Weight Watchers?
Weight Watchers offers a multi-dimensional way to learn how to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight for the long-term. The program focuses on eating more healthfully, increasing physical activity and changing behavior.
How do I access the Weight Watchers benefit at no cost?
Call 1-866-531-8170 (OEBB dedicated toll-free number)
Weight Watchers will sign you up and bill your medical carrier directly. This is the only way to access this benefit. Your medical plan will not reimburse members who pay Weight Watchers directly.
Can I join at no cost if I waive or opt out of OEBB medical?
No, you must be enrolled in an OEBB medical plan to be eligible for this benefit.

Weight Watchers At Work Meetings
Would you like the convenience of attending a meeting at your worksite?
  1. Call Weight Watchers at 1-866-531-8170 and let them know you are interested in attending a meeting at your worksite.
  2. Let them know if you can be an on-site coordinator. All you have to do is reserve the room, make sure it is set up and work with the Weight Watchers leader to direct members to the location.
  3. Weight Watchers will tally how many people want to attend a meeting at your worksite. The minimum number of participants is 15.
  4. Weight Watchers will contact you once the minimum number of participants has been reached and a meeting is being organized.Even
If your workplace isn’t able to organize At Work meetings, call the Weight Watchers toll-free number 1-866-531-8170 to learn about other options, such as community meetings or the online subscription.

Expanded Eligibility for Dependents

Effective Oct. 1, 2010, federal legislation requires OEBB to extend eligibility to dependent children ages 19 through 25 regardless of marital, student, employment, residency or tax status. Even dependent children who have access to or are covered by other group coverage (including their own employment) are eligible for OEBB coverage.
OEBB members may submit an "Overage Dependent Child QSC Change Form" to their Educational Entity no later than Oct. 29, 2010. Coverage must be effective Oct. 1, 2010 and retroactive premiums may apply.
Dependents age 19 through 25 who have coverage effective Oct. 1, 2010, will not be subject to the 12-month waiting period for dental or vision coverage.

Check Your Paystub
Be sure to carefully reivew your pay stub as soon as you get it. Make sure your deductions match the benefits you chose during Open Enrollment.
You can compare your pay stub with your benefit summary by logging in to MyOEBB. 
If you think there is an error, contact your Educational Entity as soon as possible.

Employee Assistance Program
As of October 1, 2010, Reliant Behavioral Health began providing EAP services to 72 Educational Entities as part of their OEBB benefits package. To find out if your Educational Entity elected this benefit for the 2010-11 plan year, visit the OEBB website: www.oregon.gov/OHA/OEBB/EAP_List.shtml.
The employee assistance program (EAP) offers free, confidential services to help people privately resolve problems that may interfere with work, family, and other important areas of life. EAP services include counseling, referral services and wellness resources. If you are an OEBB member in one of the participating Educational Entities who purchased this benefit, there is no cost to you or your family members for using EAP services. In fact, any of your eligible dependents or anyone in your household can access these services for free.
Services are always CONFIDENTIAL. No private information is reported to OEBB or your employer when you contact or access services through your EAP.
  • Counseling Services: You have access to face-to-face confidential counseling, 24-hour crisis help, and online visits using RBH eAccess.
  • Work-life Balance Services: Access to the personal advantage website, information about childcare, adult and eldercare, convenience resources, legal and mediation services, will preparation, financial services, home buyers program and identity theft services.
  • Wellness Services: Interactive website and wellness coaching.
