Survey Reports and Data

Oregon Health Insurance Survey (OHIS)

The Oregon Health Authority and OHPR conducted this large-scale health and health insurance survey of Oregonians in the first quarter of 2011. Information gathered from the survey is helping the state understand the health care needs and concerns as we move through state and federal health reform.

American Community Survey (ACS)

OHPR explores the U.S. Census ACS health insurance questions and produces a snapshot of Oregon's health insurance picture yearly. The ACS allow for measuring changes across time in estimates of health insurance coverage (beginning in 2008).

Oregon's Uninsured: Analysis of the 2010 American Community Survey (4/12)
Oregon's Uninsured: Analysis of the 2009 American Community Survey (04/11)
Oregon's Uninsured: Analysis of the 2008 American Community Survey (05/10)

Current Population Survey (CPS)

OHPR examines the U.S. Census CPS Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS-ASEC) regarding long-run health insurance estimates. While this survey is relatively small in size, limiting the detailed health coverage information available, it has been producing national and state estimates for decades.

State Health Insurance Program

The Office of Health Analytics is evaluating the expansion of health insurance to Oregon's children through the Healthy Kids Program. We are working with a number of partners within and external to state government on this research.

The Disenrollment Study explores the issue of medical program disenrollment & churn.  This study estimates its prevalence as well as explores the characteristics associated with program disenrollment and churn.  The study was conducted by Portland State University and Providence Health & Services, Center for Outcomes Research & Education (CORE).

The Healthy Kids Evaluation Study is twofold.  First, an initial survey explores the enrollment barriers Healthy Kids applicants may experience.  This survey also gathered information on health access, utilization, status, and costs experienced by the applicant prior applying for Healthy Kids.  Second, a follow-up survey explores how these measures may have changed after being enrolled in Healthy Kids for 12 months. The study was conducted by Portland State University and Providence Health & Services, Center for Outcomes Research & Education (CORE).

The Healthy Kids multi-mode evaluation study explores ways for improving the Healthy Kids application process.  This research team conducted surveys and focus groups and interviewed people with differing perspectives of the application process.  The research was conducted by McGee & Evers Consulting.
