Stay in tune with the young ones in your life

Providence resources: Stay in tune with the young ones in your life

4,400 young people commit suicide every year – and, for every suicide, there are at least 100 suicide attempts, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). That’s 440,000 too many.

Stay in tune – really in tune – with the young ones in your life. Watch them with deep compassion for the warning signs:
  • Depression, or ongoing sadness
  • Withdrawal from others
  • Losing interest in things they used to love to do
  • Trouble sleeping or eating
  • Talking about or showing interest in death or dying
And, always:
  1. Listen with an open heart
  2. Talk to your child about his/her feelings, letting him/her know it’s okay to be sad, even depressed
  3. Show unconditional love, and
  4. Please, seek help from an expert
Providence offers whole-person care, and promises to know you, care for you and ease your way no matter what your needs. Please seek help for yourself and for those you love.
