Requesting Oregon BRFSS Public Use Datasets
To request Oregon BRFSS public use datasets, please complete the online Data Use Form. Be sure to give a detailed description of how the data will be used and include the names and email addresses of the Principal Investigator (PI) and all data users who will have access to the dataset. Also include your contact information so that we can clarify your request if necessary. Please include a copy of your IRB approval as well.
To
protect confidentiality, the Oregon BRFSS annual public use data files
exclude county code, zip code and any other data element which might allow
identification of a respondent. Persons needing these data elements should
contact the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Research Data Center
at: https://www.cdc.gov/rdc/index.htm.
We make no exceptions to this policy.
A public use county file which combines and
reweights four years of annual Oregon BRFSS data is available for
county-level analysis. The county file is to be used only for generating
county-level estimates for the entire four-year period; any attempt to generate
county-level results by year will yield inaccurate results.

Data Processing Fee May Apply: Depending upon your request, a data processing fee off $70 per hour may apply. Requestors will be notified of any fees that must be paid by check prior to processing your data request.
