Employee or Independent Contractor?

The Health Licensing Office (HLO) frequently receives questions on whether an individual meets the criteria established for an employee or an independent contractor. In an effort to clarify the difference, the HLO is collaborating with the Department of Revenue and the Employment Department to provide authorization holders with information on how to determine the difference between the two worker classifications.
 
The Oregon Interagency Compliance Network (a team of state agencies) has developed several tools to help correctly classify individuals as employees or independent contractors. The HLO would like to assist our licensees, and the public who use their services, by bringing awareness to these tools and resources. For additional information visit the web links below:
