Policy
To comply with the requirements of The College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), the Oregon State Public Health Laboratory (OSPHL) publishes our Specimen Submission Policy (pdf). The purpose of this policy is to:
- Clarify the specimen submission requirements for communicable disease specimens referred to the OSPHL for testing,
- Detail general specimen rejection criteria, and
- Provide information about the disposition of specimens rejected for testing.
