During the first full week of April each year, public health communities across the U.S. observe National Public Health Week as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation. Public Health Week is an opportunity to promote the public health system in Oregon, provide networking and learning for public health professionals, and highlight timely public health issues.
Every year, the Oregon Public Health Division organizes a series of Public Health Week events at the Portland State Office Building to celebrate the achievements of public health, and provide opportunities to share and network with colleagues and partners.
This year’s events focus on the public health foundational capability of health equity and cultural responsiveness.
