  • SNACK program helps kids eat better, move more – and avoid chronic diseases
    Cody Daggett

December 19, 2014 (Dayton, Ore.) — Cody Daggett's doctor told him he should do something about his weight.

Daggett got involved in the SNACK program at Physician's Medical Center in McMinnville. SNACK stands for Student Nutrition and Activity Clinic for Kids. The program grew out of a vision from the medical center's health care providers who saw their young patients struggling with issues of adequate exercise and healthy eating. SNACK recently earned a grant from Yamhill Community Care Organization and hired a coordinator. The program plans to expand now with a dedicated person to provide leadership and direction. They expect to help about 100 pediatric patients next year.
