Health Care interpreters provide a vital service for limited English-speaking patients, medical providers, and the health care system. Qualified and certified interpreters ensure accurate patient-patient communications, and improve access and quality of health care, as well as health outcomes. As Oregon's population becomes increasingly diverse, the need for professional, trained, qualified and certified health care interpreters is greater than ever.
Communicating with limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients using an interpreter can be both challenging and rewarding for providers.
