County Level Results

OHT Combined 2005-2006 County Level Results

Oregon Healthy Teens (OHT) is Oregon's effort to monitor the health and well-being of adolescents. One goal of this collaborative project is to provide county-level information for communities to use in identifying key issues of concern, and in planning and evaluating efforts to improve outcomes for young people.

The tables below contain the results for all respondents of all questions asked on the survey in both 2005 and 2006. The left column under each grade indicates the number of surveys from that county and grade in the 2005/2006 period.

The tables below are from all respondents in all districts and schools within each county that participated in either the 2005 or 2006 OHT. Annual state estimates and county level estimates prior to 2005 are from a random sample of districts and schools; therefore, the combined 2005/2006 county level tables may differ slightly than previous estimates.

Oregon Healthy Teens has a high participation rate from districts and schools, so the estimates below are generally good representations of the 8th and 11th grade students in each county. However, in two counties, Marion and Washington, districts that represent a majority of the counties' students declined to participate in both 2005 and 2006. Because a large proportion of students were not sampled, it is uncertain whether our estimates accurately represent all 8th and 11th grade students in these two counties. Some counties did not participate in either 2005 or 2006.

We urge county health agencies, community planning groups, and schools to participate in Oregon Healthy Teens, so that they can use the information to develop and support activities and environments that encourage healthy behaviors and healthy lives.
