GEORGE KOVAL, MD, Portland
Dr. Koval is a practicing gastroenterologist who is Board certified in medicine and gastroenterology. He serves as managing partner and Director of Research for the West Hills Gastroenterology Division of the Oregon Clinic. For the past 20 years, Dr. Koval has been Chair of the Credentials Committee at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. He also serves on the Regional Credentials Committee for the Portland Service Area of the PHS, the Health and Safety Committee for the Oregon Medical Association and previously for the Institutional Review Board of the Legacy Health System in Portland. In 2006, Portland Magazine awarded Dr. Koval the “Top Doctors Awards”.
Dr. Koval attended the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He earned his medical degree from The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Koval completed internship and residency at Michigan State Affiliated Hospitals before continuing on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at Oregon Health Sciences University.
