The Oregon Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is a database that allows prescribers of controlled substances to access a patient’s prescription history. 
 
 
Jackson County offers an Opioid Prescriber’s Forum where providers can pose questions to and discuss best practices with colleagues currently addressing the same issues.
 
 
The Oregon Pain Management Commission is responsible for the one hour of pain management specific CME credit required of all OMB licensees.  The Commission offers a PDF and a Word version of the module, links to additional pain courses and a mailing list to receive direct information on this important topic. 
 
 
The Federation of State Medical Boards offers both a paperback and electronic version of its publication, Responsible Opioid Prescribing: A Clinician’s Guide.  The FSMB also provides numerous other resources such as pain and function assessment tools, treatment consensus statement, guides and guidelines, federal regulations and other sites of interest on its Pain Resources page.
 
 
In 2010, the Washington State Agency Medical Directors Group published the Interagency Guideline on Opioid Dosing for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain (CNCP).  The Guideline addresses initiating, transitioning and maintaining opioids for chronic non-cancer pain patients and optimizing treatment through various methods.
 
 
The National Opioid Use Guideline Group (NOUGG), a group based from the Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada, has established the Canadian Guideline for Safe and Effective Use of Opioid for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain.  The report is available here as well as applications for Android and iPhones and an Opioid Manager site.
