Awards & Recognition
Oregon Heritage Excellence Award
Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards recognize individuals, businesses and organizations for outstanding efforts on behalf of Oregon heritage and raise the quality of heritage-oriented activities. Nominations are encouraged for exceptional and meritorious work. Special consideration is given to the development of new ideas, approaches and innovations.

Oregon Heritage All-Star Community
OPRD Heritage All-Star logo RGB.jpgThe Oregon Heritage All-Star program is a way to recognize communities that make the most of their heritage resources. Oregon Heritage created a list of heritage related criteria by which the program can be measured.

A Heritage All-Star Community meets 15 of the 20 criteria. To receive designation the community must apply using the form provided here. The application is reviewed by Oregon Heritage staff and the designation is approved by the Oregon Heritage Commission.

All-Stars receive special benefits.
  • a certificate for display
  • two metal signs for display
  • the designation noted on the Travel Oregon web site
  • a logo to use in publications and marketing materials
  • Heritage All-Star Community Technical Services

Heritage All-Star Community Application

Application Deadline: June 21, 2013


Communities that meet 10 of the criteria are eligible to receive specific training and technical support to attain All-Star level. To receive this assistance, fill out and submit an Application of Interest.

Oregon Heritage Tradition
Communities in Oregon have events that have over the years have become associated with what it means to be an Oregonian. In short, if you have attended these events, you are truly an Oregonian.
 
The Oregon Heritage Tradition designation recognizes those events more than 50 years old that represent what it means to be an Oregonian.
  
This is an ongoing designation unless the Oregon Heritage Tradition is discontinued or no longer meets criteria.
 
The designated event may be considered for a declaration of statewide anniversary celebration at major milestones of 100 years, 150 years, etc., if it meets the criteria for a statewide anniversary celebration.

Oregon Heritage Stewardship Award
People all over the state are doing good things to preserve Oregon's historic and cultural resources. The Heritage Stewardship Award is designed to recognize these "Heritage Heroes" and publicize their conscientious efforts.
