The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) provides guidance to agencies and governments who are affected by these laws. Each year we review over 3,000 development projects and their potential effects on archaeological and historical sites. We will comment on projects within 30 days after receiving the submission. I just need a letter from the SHPO. Submit federal (Section 106) or state (ORS 358.653) documentation to SHPO Federal and State Law Summary - A review of the laws that apply to any land development project involving federal funds or historic properties owned by State and local government. Documenting Historic (Above Ground) Resources - Oregon SHPO website with forms and instructions for completing Section 106 and ORS 358.653 documentation. Documenting Archaeological (Below Ground) Resources - Oregon SHPO website with forms and instructions for completing Section 106 and ORS 358.653 documentation. Public Comment - How you can provide input on projects.
Mitigating for Adverse Effects - Examples of successful projects mitigating for adverse effects to National Register-eligible or -listed properties.
