The official lodging for the conference will be split between seven local properties: Budget 8 Motel, Dreamer's Lodge, Best Western of John Day, America's Best Value Inn and the Historic Hotel Prairie, Grant County Fairgrounds and Clyde Holliday State Park. As our lodging partners, every property has agreed to honor the State of Oregon Government rate of $77.00 plus tax. The Fairgrounds and Clyde Holliday costs will remain the same. Budget 8 is about a 15
minute walk (.8 miles) to the conference headquarters and a little less
to downtown John Day attractions and shops. This property is not fancy
but it is very clean and boasts the "largest, cleanest rooms in John
Day". Rooms range from large studio units with full baths to suites with private bedrooms, and include high speed internet
access. A handicapped unit is availalbe upon request. Amenities include
high speed internet access, guest laundry, in-room coffee, microwave
and refrigerator. Some 3 bed rooms are available.
is located in the center of John Day, just a block from the conference
headquarters, but off the main highway for peace and quiet. There is a
convenient back entrance from the parking lot to the Outpost Restaurant.
Twenty rooms have been reserved at this property including standard
King or Queen, Double Queen and Suites. Amenities include an indoor

Best Western of John Day
is walking distance from the charming downtown of John Day and our
conference headquarters. This property sits adjacent to Kam Wah Chung
State Heritage Site and across the street from the Outpost
Restaurant.Thirty-nine rooms have been reserved at this property.

Historic Hotel Prairie
is a gem located about a 15 minute drive from our conference
headquarters in John Day. Built in 1905, the building has transitioned
from hotel to small businesses and was restored to its original purpose
in 2005. The owners strive to keep the original hotel's charm alive with
warm, rustic décor and cozy rooms. Historic Hotel Prairie has only nine
rooms available, so reserve your spot soon!
|Grant County RV Park
is perfect for you if you prefer to bring your hotel room with you. The
Grant County RV Park is situated next to the John Day River and the
Grant County Fairgrounds. Each site features easy access, a fire ring,
picnic table and full hook-ups, all surrounded by shade trees and
groomed lawns. The Grant County RV Park is only blocks from the City
Park, Kam Wah Chung Museum, downtown John Day, restaurants, shopping and
travel-related goods and services, but yet still feels as if you're in
the country. This is a pet friendly RV park with a refurbished river
walk trail great for family, friends and pets!
|Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site invites conference participants to enjoy Oregon State Parks firsthand with a stay on their grounds, located just seven miles west of John Day. The serene setting of the park offers a canopy of cottonwood trees and a border of the th beautiful John Da River. Camp and RV sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only. Teepees can be reserved by visiting the park website. |
