The Oregon Recreation Trails Advisory Council (ORTAC) will meet Friday, April 5 in Washington County to learn about current trail development initiatives in northwest Oregon from local advocates and land managers. The meeting will be held at L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park (30380 NW Hwy 47 in Buxton) in the Cabin Village Meeting Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public, and citizen comments are welcome.
The Oregon Recreation Trails Advisory Council was established by the Oregon State Legislature in 1971 to advise the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and to promote non-motorized recreation and trail development in Oregon. The Council is made up of seven volunteer members appointed by the Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission to represent Oregon's five congressional districts. The Council meets four times annually in different locations across the state. For more information about ORTAC, visit http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/PLANS/pages/ortac.aspx.
