There are five basic ways to get involved as a volunter at Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.  Each type is listed in a section below.  In each section there is information including a general description of the type that of duties that are typical for that particular program.
 
You can always get more information from the State Parks Information Center at 800-551-6949 or leave us a message on  the Volunteer Hotline at 877-225-9803.  This number is not staffed, but it is checked daily and we will be happy to return your call!

 
Volunteer Host Program
Interested in staying at a park for 30 days or more, and helping with park and visitor duties? Check out the host program!

4 WAYS TO APPLY:  

1) If you're interested in becoming a volunteer park host for the first time, you can either download the new host application here on-line or...

2) Request a Full-Color Host Information Packet.  The full packet gives you access to printed copies of the items listed in the bullet points above and a full-color Park Guide for you to keep. 

3) If you just need to renew from a previous year's application, you can download the renewal application for returning hosts now or...

4) If you would like to try your hand at becoming an interpretive host and you just need the Interpretive Host Questionnaire only, download that form here

Adopt-a-Park or Partners in Park Program

If you´re interested in the Adopt-a-Park program, complete an Adopt-a-Park Interest Form and send it to the address listed below.  If you have any questions, would like to discuss your group, project or the Oregon State Parks system, contact Tammy Baumann by email or by phone at (503) 986-0751.  You can complete your Adopt-A-Park Interest Form and submit it by email or print it out and send it to the Statewide Volunteer Coordinator by email at Tammy Baumann or by post mail at :

Our Cooperative Association (Friends Group) Partnerships
Private, nonprofit Friends groups are set up many parks statewide.  The purpose of these partnerships is to provide educational services within state parks.  To learn more about our partnerships please visit What is a Friends group?

Individual & Group Volunteers
There are always special projects and internship styled volunteering opportunities at Oregon State Parks!  These projects range from being administrative in nature to requiring specialized skills and knowledge that maybe only YOU can bring to the table.  Contact us and let us know that you are interested, or complete the Individual Volunteer Application and mail it to:
