DESCRIPTIVE DVDS


 

Talking Books is pleased to offer our users a Descriptive DVD collection of over 100 titles.  Descriptive DVDs play on any commercial DVD player and have an audio option to includeDVD stack.jpg the audio narration track that describes the visual elements of the movie.  In order to play these DVDs you must supply your own DVD player.

 

These DVDs are menu driven, and the correct audio option must first be selected in order to play the descriptive soundtrack.  Instructions are included with each DVD for accessing the audio description.  After setup, you will hear the descriptive soundtrack once you begin playing the movie.

 

The titles on this page are organized numerically.  Each title has a corresponding DVD number which can be used to request the movie from Talking Books.  You may only have one Descriptive DVD out on loan to you at any time, but you may put as many on request as you would like.  The Descriptive DVD loan period is three weeks.


 

All of these DVDs are the same as the ones you can buy online or from the store.  If you are interested in purchasing DVDs with the descriptive video audio option, you can access a complete list of available titles by clicking this link.


 

The following descriptions of the videos, including the Motion Picture Rating System code, are provided to help Talking Books users select titles to borrow. The sources of our information are the video producers and distributors, and the video packaging. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating system is voluntary and strictly an advisory with no force of local, state or federal law. Where a rating is provided, it has been included in the movie description.
