DESCRIPTIVE VHS

Talking Book and Braille Library is pleased to offer our users a VHS Descriptive Video selection of over 400 titles.  VHS Descriptive Videos play on any commercial VCR, and have a special audio narration track that describes the visual elements of the movie when there is no character dialog.  In order to play these movies you must supply your own VHS player.

Each title on these lists has a corresponding DVX number which can be used to request the movie; just contact us at 800-452-0292 or talkingbooks.info@state.or.us.  You may only have one Descriptive Video out on loan to you at any time, and the loan period is three weeks.

The following descriptions of the videos, including the Motion Picture Rating System code, are provided to help Talking Books users select titles to borrow. The sources of our information are the video producers and distributors, and the video packaging. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating system is voluntary and strictly an advisory with no force of local, state or federal law. Where a rating is provided, it has been included in the movie description.

These movies are intended for the private use of Talking Books users and may not be copied, duplicated, or exhibited at a public event whether or not a fee is charged.
