The Homicide Investigation Tracking
System (HITS) is a violent crime database that collects, collates, and analyzes
the salient characteristics of all murders in the State of Oregon. The
information is provided by homicide investigators and detectives via an
electronic form and submitted to the Department of the State Police for
collection and analysis. This information is used to compare information to
other crimes with similar methods of operations, to link crimes, or to identify

for identification of additional suspects and places investigators in contact
so they can share information.
