CJIS Security
In accordance with the CJIS security policy updated September 2004 a national fingerprint-based criminal history check will be performed on all personnel who will have authorized access to FBI CJIS systems.

The Oregon State Police Identification Services Section conducts CJIS Security background checks on applicants for CJIS security access. This proces​​s has been developed to provide guidelines for performing a criminal history background check on personnel who will have authorized access to state and national CJIS systems. A national fingerprint-based criminal history record check will be performed upon assignment of personnel to a facility with access to state and national CJIS systems. Criteria for approving access to state and national CJIS systems have been established in accordance with the CJIS security policy (link below). This process will also be used for police officer, corrections officer and reserve officer applicant cards.
