Oregon State Police (OSP) is conducting "Active Shooter" training for OSP troopers Thursday, January 9, - Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the vacant Parker Elementary School located at 3875 Kincaid Street in Eugene. Training coordinators would like area residents to be aware of the training to ease any alarm or concern as troopers receive critical training to protect local communities.
During the three-day training period between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., area residents can expect to see OSP vehicles and troopers at the school. Signs will be posted outside starting this afternoon advising that training is taking place at the vacant school site.
The training is not open for media. Any questions can be directed to Lieutenant Rob Edwards at (541) 726-2536.
