Four people were injured, one seriously, in a two vehicle head-on traffic crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 26 near Frog Lake east of Government Camp.

According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Scott Kinch, on January 11, 2014 at approximately 3:24 p.m., a 1998 Subaru four-door driven by VLADIMIR VOLOSHCHUCK, age 64, from southeast Portland was westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 61 negotiating a left curve on snow-covered roadway when it traveled onto the shoulder, lost control and slid across the highway toward the eastbound lanes. The driver of a 2004 Chevrolet pickup, BRADLEY HUTCHINS, age 27, from Madras, saw the out-of-control Subaru coming toward his lanes so he slowed to 5 - 10 mph moving to the right eastbound lane where the vehicles collided head-on.

VOLOSHCHUCK was seriously injured and transported by AMR ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center where he is reported in critical condition. Right front passenger VASYL VOLOSHCHUCK, age 57, from southeast Portland, was also transported by ambulance to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

HUTCHINS and his 25-year old female passenger had minor injuries but were not reported transported for treatment.

All occupants were using safety restraints and the pickup's airbags deployed.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Hoodland Fire Department and ODOT. One eastbound lane was closed 90 minutes.
