Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public’s help to locate the owner of an injured dog found Tuesday morning along Highway 228 east of Crawfordsville in Linn County. OSP transported the dog to an Albany-area veterinarian where it is being treated for minor injuries.

According to Senior Trooper Tim Fox, on January 14, 2014 at approximately 6:30 a.m., OSP troopers responded to Highway 228 near Brush Creek Road following a report of an injured dog in the middle of the road that was not allowing anyone to approach it. When troopers arrived, the dog was on the side of the highway. The injured dog may have fallen out of the back of a pickup or was clipped by a passing vehicle.

Troopers placed the injured dog in the back of an OSP patrol car and transported it to an Albany-area veterinarian for treatment. The dog had a black collar, but no identification tag or a computer microchip.
