Oregon State Police (OSP) and Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) are conducting joint investigations into an early Sunday morning two vehicle head-on crash involving two suspected DUII drivers on Highway 26 near Manning.

On January 19, 2014, at approximately 12:42 a.m., a 1997 Honda Civic driven by ZACHARRY J. OLSON, age 18, from Banks, was eastbound on Highway 26 near milepost 48 in the westbound lane of travel when it collided head-on with a 2004 Mazda 3 driven by JAMIE L. FRANCE, age 23, from Redmond.

OLSON was transported by ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with moderate, non-life threatening injuries. He was cited by OSP for DUII, Assault in the Third Degree, and Assault in the Fourth Degree.

FRANCE and her passenger JUSTIN A. CAPUTO, age 22, from Vernonia, were also transported by ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. FRANCE was cited by WCSO for DUII.

Safety restraint use is pending confirmation. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.

OSP was assisted at the scene by local fire and ambulance personnel and ODOT. The highway was closed during incident response and investigation with a detour around the scene.
