Death Investigation - Highway 22 / Highway 18 Junction in Polk County

Oregon State Police (OSP) is investigating the death of an adult female found Thursday in a vehicle at the Highway 22 / Highway 18 park and ride lot. The 39-year old woman has been positively identified and there is no indication her death is related to a crime.
 
Updated information indicates on January 24, 2013 at approximately 12:18 p.m., Yamhill County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene after receiving a report of a woman in a vehicle at Highway 22 and Highway 18 junction. A deputy confirmed a deceased woman was inside a 2011 Toyota RAV and at about 1:00 p.m. OSP was contacted to respond.
 
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the medical examiner to confirm the manner and cause of death. Her name will be released Friday to allow next of kin more time for notifications.
 
OSP was also assisted at the scene by Polk County Sheriff's Office. Detective Scott Yunker is the lead investigator.
