Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Friday morning's serious injury single vehicle rollover traffic crash on an icy stretch of Highway 395 about eight miles south of Pendleton.
On January 24, 2014 at approximately 6:00 a.m., a 2009 Nissan Frontier pickup driven by KATHLEEN J. MOFFETT, age 57, from Pilot Rock, was northbound on Highway 395 near milepost 8 when the pickup traveled off the highway into a ditch. The pickup rolled over once before coming to rest on its top in the ditch. The cab was partially crushed and MOFFETT trapped inside.
Passing citizens stopped and removed her from the vehicle as emergency responders were enroute. They provided initial emergency care until relieved by medical personnel from Pendleton.
MOFFETT was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton then transferred to air ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. MOFFETT, who was using safety restraints, is in critical condition.
OSP was assisted by local responders, Pilot Rock Police Department, and ODOT. Senior Trooper Brandi Zeckman is the lead investigator.
