Correct spelling of suspect's name is ANTHONY OSBORNE.
Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division detectives arrested
a Bend-area man Sunday following a weekend investigation into an allegation of
physical child abuse.
According to Sergeant Roberto Robles, on January 25, 2014, OSP detectives began
an investigation into an allegation of physical child abuse to a 13-year old
girl by her biological father. The victim was checked at a local hospital and
released to her mother. The investigation, with the assistance of Deschutes
County District Attorney's Office, led to detectives obtaining a search warrant
for a residence in the 60400 block of Umatilla Circle in the Deschutes River
Woods housing area south of Bend.
On Sunday, January 26, OSP detectives and troopers served the search warrant
without incident and took into custody ANTHONY W. OSBORNE, age 34, for Assault
in the Fourth Degree, Menacing, and Harassment. OSBORNE was lodged in the
Deschutes County Jail. OSP, working in conjunction with Department of Human
Services, also took into protective custody two other juvenile age children
living at that residence. Those children are also now staying with their mother
pending the ongoing investigation.
No further information will be release without authorization from the Deschutes
County District Attorney's Office.
