Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic contact last Thursday in Douglas County led
to the arrest of two men of Methamphetamine charges.
On January 30, 2014 at about 12:30 a.m., an OSP trooper observed a lighting
violation northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 119 involving a 2008 Toyota
Camry passenger car. The trooper made contact with the driver and identified
him as ANDREW HAMSTREET, age 29, from Canby. The trooper identified the
passenger as JULIO GONZALEZ-ZAMUDIO, age 43, from Beaverton.
Subsequent Investigation led to the discovery of approximately 2.5 lbs. of methamphetamine
in a bag on the back seat.
HAMSTREET was arrested for Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Distribution of
GONZALEZ-ZAMUDIO was arrested for Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Distribution
of Methamphetamine, Possession of Fictitious Identification, Interfering with a
Police Officer, and False Information to a Police Officer.
Both men were taken to the Douglas County jail where they were lodged.
OSP was assisted at the scene by detectives with OSP'S Drug Enforcement
