Two Men Arrested in Douglas County on Methamphetamine Charges

An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic contact last Thursday in Douglas County led to the arrest of two men of Methamphetamine charges.

On January 30, 2014 at about 12:30 a.m., an OSP trooper observed a lighting violation northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 119 involving a 2008 Toyota Camry passenger car. The trooper made contact with the driver and identified him as ANDREW HAMSTREET, age 29, from Canby. The trooper identified the passenger as JULIO GONZALEZ-ZAMUDIO, age 43, from Beaverton.

Subsequent Investigation led to the discovery of approximately 2.5 lbs. of methamphetamine in a bag on the back seat.

HAMSTREET was arrested for Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine.
GONZALEZ-ZAMUDIO was arrested for Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine, Possession of Fictitious Identification, Interfering with a Police Officer, and False Information to a Police Officer.

Both men were taken to the Douglas County jail where they were lodged.
OSP was assisted at the scene by detectives with OSP'S Drug Enforcement Section.
