Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into last Wednesday evening's fatal pedestrian-involved crash that occurred on Jasper-Lowell Road near Highway 58. The crash resulted in the death of a 15-year old female from the Lowell area. Names of the driver and victim are released in this update.
On February 5, 2014 at about 6:06 p.m., a 1986 Ford pickup driven by DANIEL ROLEY CORP JR, age 57, from Dexter, was northbound on Jasper-Lowell road about a quarter mile from the Highway 58 intersection. As CORP observed three persons in the darkness on the shoulder of the road on a bike, scooter and a skateboard, he steered to the left to safely move around them and then collided with a female juvenile in the middle of the roadway.
