Oregon State Police (OSP) is investigating a racially offensive note found Thursday morning in the women’s bathroom at the Women’s Center on the Oregon State University campus. Oregon State University has received a $500 donation for a reward that leads to an arrest and conviction related to OSP’s investigation.
On March 6, 2014 at approximately 11:48 a.m., a report was received into the University’s Public Safety Department dispatch of a suspicious note found in the woman’s bathroom. The typed note was described as “very offensive and racially charged.” OSP responded, seized the note and is conducting an investigation into the crime of Disorderly Conduct. The full content of the note is not being released.
The note follows a previous incident last Friday where an unidentified person wrote racist graffiti on a campus bathroom wall. There is no known connection between the two incidents.
Anyone with information related to this case is urged to call OSU Public Safety dispatch at (541) 737-3010 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Trooper John Wolfenbarger is the lead investigator.
