Two In Custody Following Attempt to Elude from Salem to Tualatin
March 14, 2013

(Questions regarding the names of persons arrested should be directed to Marion County Sheriff's Office)

Two people are in custody Thursday evening along Interstate 5 in the Tualatin area after an attempt to elude Oregon State Police (OSP) and Marion County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) in a stolen vehicle northbound on Interstate 5. The two Hispanic males were turned over to MCSO deputies for further investigation and consideration of charges.

On March 14, 2013 at approximately 6:22 p.m., OSP was notified that a stolen Honda Accord four-door was attempting to elude MCSO northbound on Interstate 5 at a high rate of speed from the Salem area. OSP troopers from Salem and Portland assumed lead positions near Woodburn and kept the vehicle in sight. As it traveled northbound a Tualatin police sergeant successfully deploy spike strips deflating both left side tires.

At approximately 6:40 p.m., the eluding Honda stopped at the Nyberg Road off ramp in the Tualatin area where both occupants were taken into custody without incident.
