Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Traffic Crash - Highway 39 in Klamath Falls

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Friday evening's fatal pedestrian-involved traffic crash that resulted in the death of a 49-year old Klamath Falls man.
 
According to Sergeant Robert Fenner, on March 15, 2013 at approximately 7:54 p.m., a 2000 Dodge Caravan driven by YVONNE JOYCE WADE, age 73, from Klamath Falls, was eastbound on South 6th Street between Homedale Road and Madison Street when it struck a male pedestrian walking across South 6th Street. The male pedestrian later identified as BERT LINWOOD ICHTERTZ, age 49, was declared deceased at the scene. The pedestrian victim was not in a crosswalk.
 
WADE was not injured.
 
OSP troopers from the Klamath Area Command office are continuing the investigation. 
 
OSP was assisted at the scene by the Klamath County Sheriff's Office, Klamath County Fire District 1, Klamath County District Attorney's Office and ODOT. South 6th Street between Homedale Road and Madison Street was closed for over 3 hours.
