An investigation by the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team last Wednesday led to the arrest of a Grants Pass-area man on drug and firearm charges.

On March 13, 2013, RADE team detectives and Oregon State Police (OSP) served a search warrant at an apartment in the 1700 block of NE Fairview Avenue in Grants Pass and subsequently arrested SHEA MARCUS NEW, age 26, for Unlawful Manufacture, Possession, and Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Heroin, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. SHEA was lodged in the Josephine County Jail.

During the search, detectives seized approximately three-quarters of an ounce of heroin, methamphetamine, a semi-automatic handgun, and other evidence. Much of the heroin was packaged in user amounts for sale.
