Oregon State Police - Tillamook
A reward offered to help Oregon State Police (OSP) solve the February 2013 unlawful killing and waste of a five point bull elk in Tillamook County received a major boost following the addition of $2,000 through the Tillamook County Chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association (OHA).
On Monday February 4, 2013 at approximately 7:30 a.m., OSP was notified by a citizen that a bull elk was seen laid out in a field near milepost 8 on Blaine Road. Another citizen stated at approximately 5:20 a.m. they saw about a dozen elk at the location that morning. A trooper responded to the location and seized the elk for salvage and evidence.
The $2,000 provided by the Tillamook County OHA Chapter is in addition to $500 offered by the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-In-Poachers (TIP) reward program for information leading to the arrest and conviction in this case. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Trooper Geoff Smith at (503) 812-9876 or email email@example.com.
