Today, Wednesday April 30, 2014, at 12:37 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Columbia River Correctional Institute (CRCI) on the report that an inmate escaped after climbing the fence. CRCI is located at 9111 Northeast Sunderland Avenue, near Northeast 33rd Avenue and Marine Drive.
The inmate has been identified as 30-year-old Matthew Joseph Medlin and he is described as 5'8" tall, 185 pounds, bald head, multiple facial tattoos, wearing blue jeans and a blue t-shirt with Department of Corrections stencil.
Medlin was incarcerated on a charges including Burglary, Sex Abuse and Assault. He was due for release on May 6, 2014.
Multiple officers are in the area searching for Medlin.
Anyone seeing Medlin should immediately call 9-1-1.
