Two California residents are facing charges in Lake County following a Monday evening
Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop north of Lakeview during which an OSP trooper discovered approximately 8 pounds of marijuana inside wrapped birthday gift boxes.
On May 20, 2013 at approximately 6:39 p.m., an OSP trooper stopped a 1990 Ford van displaying Minnesota license plates northbound on Highway 395E near milepost 139 for a speed violation. The van’s two occupants were identified as driver JORDAN A. BRAUN, age 21, and passenger DONALD NALEZNY, age 19, both from Sonoma, California.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led the trooper to discover two wrapped birthday presents contained a total of approximately 8 pounds of marijuana. In addition, an ice cooler had approximately 10 ounces of frozen hash oil. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $20,000.
BRAUN and NALEZNY was later cited and released to appear in Lake County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
