OSP Traffic Contact Leads to 11 lbs of Marijuana, One Arrest - Interstate 5 south of Eugene

An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic contact last Friday south of Eugene led to the arrest of a Federal Way, Washington man on marijuana-related charges.

On June 21, 2013 at about 7:40 a.m., an OSP trooper observed a speeding violation northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 176 involving a 2013 Nissan Altima passenger car. The trooper made contact with the driver and identified him as ROBERT PEARSON JR, age 32, from Federal Way, Washington.

Subsequent investigation during the contact led to the discovery of approximately 11 lbs. of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle. The approximate value of the marijuana is $25,000.

PEARSON was arrested for Unlawful Delivery and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. PEARSON was transported to the Lane County Jail where he was lodged.

OSP was assisted at the scene by detectives with OSP's Drug Enforcement Section.
