A Bend-area woman was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a collision involving her motorcycle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection on Highway 20 and Cook Avenue in Tumalo.
According to Sergeant David Pond, on July 1, 2013 at approximately 2:25 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by KELLY M. WEBB, age 48, from Bend, was westbound on Highway 20 approaching the intersection with Cook Avenue. A southbound Honda CRV driven by STEPHANIE M. MOSS, age 27, from Redmond, drove from Cook Avenue into the motorcycle's path and was struck in the driver's side.
WEBB received serious, non-life threatening injuries and was transported by air ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. She was wearing a protective helmet.
MOSS and her three juvenile age child passengers were using appropriate safety restraints and were not injured. MOSS was cited for Fail to Yield Before Entering Highway.
OSP troopers from the Bend Area Command office were assisted at the scene by Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Bend Fire & Rescue, and ODOT. The highway was partially closed until the scene investigation was completed and vehicles towed.
