The State Medical Examiner's Office has deemed the recent death of a Coffee Creek Correctional Facility inmate a suicide. The inmate's death was investigating by Oregon State Police Criminal Investigations Division.
Inmate Precious Anderson died at approximately 12:05 a.m., Wednesday, July 3. She was 18 years old. Anderson entered DOC custody on May 9, 2013, on one count of assaulting a public safety officer out of Linn County. Her earliest release date was Dec. 3, 2014.
No other details are available for release at this time.
CCCF is a multi-custody facility in Wilsonville that houses more than 1,200 women. It provides a range of correctional services and programs including alcohol and drug treatment, education, work opportunities, cognitive programming, and pre-release services. The minimum facility opened in 2001 and the medium facility opened in 2002. CCCF is Oregon's only women's prison.
