Driver Arrested After DUII Injury Crash - Highway 18 in Dayton

A Dayton man is facing numerous charges following Tuesday evening's two vehicle injury traffic crash at a Dayton-area intersection that injured two people.

On September 24, 7:30 p.m., a 1987 Ford Ranger pickup driven by JACOB N. KREDER, age 32, from Dayton, attempted to turn from Highway 18 onto SE Kreder Road. The pickup turned in front of a 2004 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle driven by DAVID M. CHRISTIE, age 28, from Sherwood, causing a near head-on collision.

DAVID CHRISTIE was not injured. His passenger/wife, NICOLE M. CHRISTIE, age 28, was transported by ambulance to Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville with minor injuries.

KREDER was also transported by ambulance to Willamette Valley Medical Center with minor injuries. After he was treated and released, OSP took him into custody and lodged him in the Yamhill County Jail on the following charges:

* DUII - Alcohol
* Reckless Driving
* Assault in the Fourth Degree
* Recklessly Endangering Another Person (2 counts)

Safety restraint use information is not available.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Dayton Fire District, Lafayette Fire Department, and McMinnville Fire Department.
