An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper from the Albany Area Command office was presented Monday with a special award by the Albany American Legion Post #10 as the “Trooper of the Year.”
On November 4, 2013, a representative from the Albany American Legion Post #10 joined OSP employees at the Albany Area Command office and presented Trooper Ray Stallsworth with “Trooper of the Year 2012” plaque. Each year, the local American Legion Post recognizes a city, county and state law enforcement officer in appreciation for work done locally to keep area communities safer. The selected recipient is nominated by their respective agency’s peers and supervisors.
“Ray is a leader amongst his peers, volunteers for additional assignments, and seeks opportunities to make a difference in our community,” said OSP Lieutenant Dave Mazour, Area Commander at the Albany office. “He is very deserving of this recognition from the American Legion post.”
Trooper Stallsworth is a 5-year OSP veteran and has worked since joining OSP at the Albany Area Command office in the Patrol Services Division.
