Update: Woman Arrested on Multiple Charges Following Investigation into August 2013 Double Fatal Traffic Crash North of Lincoln City

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested a 58-year old Depoe Bay woman Friday after an arrest warrant was issued related to an investigation into an August 4, 2013 fatal traffic crash that resul ted in the death of two people on Highway 101 north of Lincoln City.

On November 8, 2013, OSP troopers arrested PATTY A. WEISSENFLUH, age 58, at her residence. She was lodged in Lincoln County Jail with bail set at $500,000 on the following charges listed on the arrest warrant:

* Manslaughter in the Second Degree (2 counts)
* Assault in the Third Degree
* DUII
* Recklessly Endangering Another Person (3 counts)
* Reckless Driving
* Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree

On August 4, 2013 at approximately 6:45 p.m., a 2001 Cadillac Deville driven by WEISSENFLUGH was traveling on Highway 101 near milepost 111 through a right curve when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2012 Kia Soul driven by DONNA JEANNE BALL, age 71, from Salem.

DONNA BALL was transported by REACH air ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland where she died after about four hours after the crash. A passenger in the Kia, WILLIAM LEE BALL SR, age 74, from Salem, was seriously injured.

A passenger in WEISSENFLUH's car identified as MILDRED M. KAUFFMAN, age 89, from Lincoln City, died a few days later.

WEISSENFLUH was seriously injured and later released from a hospital following treatment.
