Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife troopers from the Albany Area Command office are asking for the public's help to solve a theft of a deer case in the Berlin Rd. / Upper Berlin Dr. area on Frank Timber property last week. A reward is offered by the Oregon Hunter's Association (OHA) for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
On November 2, 2012, a legally harvested fork antler buck deer with a validated deer tag attached was taken by an unknown subject(s) before the hunter could remove the deer from the field. The hunter had tagged the deer and hidden it under a tree on Frank Timber property near where he had harvested the buck. When the hunter returned, the deer was gone.
A reward of up to $250 in this deer case is offered through the Turn-In-Poachers (TIP) program for information related to this investigation. Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to call the TIP line at 1-800-452-7888 or contact Trooper Kirk Burkholder at (541) 974-7114.
