Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing their investigation into Tuesday morning's fatal traffic crash along Hwy 199 southwest of Grants Pass that resulted in the death of an adult male from Selma.
According to Sergeant First Class Jeff Proulx, on December 17, 2013 at approximately 9:52 a.m., a 2008 Subaru passenger car driven by GARY TRAMMELL, age 60, from Selma was northbound on Highway 199 near milepost 9.5 and for an unknown reason left the roadway and collided head on with a tree. TRAMMELL was transported by ground ambulance to Three Rivers Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
OSP troopers from the Grants Pass Work Site are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. Investigators determined that TRAMMELL was wearing his seatbelt. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
OSP was assisted by ODOT, Josephine County Sheriff's office, Rural Metro and AMR. The roadway was closed for a very short period of time.
