OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Nevada Man Following Seizure of 3,000 Oxycodone Pills - Highway 97 near Bend

A Las Vegas, Nevada man is facing drug-related charges following an Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop near Bend last Wednesday in which an OSP trooper found approximately 3,000 Oxycodone pills concealed in the car driven by the man. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section continued the investigation to the point the following information can be released.

 
On December 12, 2012 at approximately 4:20 p.m., an OSP trooper stopped a 1992 Cadillac Seville displaying California license plates for a speed violation northbound on Highway 97 near milepost 143 on the south end of Bend. The car's driver was identified as KENNETH LEE OTTRIX, age 54, from Las Vegas, Nevada.
 
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop led the trooper to discover approximately 3,000 Oxycodone pills concealed in the car's trunk. Estimated value of the seized pills is $90,000.
 
OTTRIX was taken into custody and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Distribution, and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance - Oxycodone.
